Desert Safari Dubai with Quad Bike: ATV Ride, BBQ Dinner & Live Shows
Why We Combined Quad Biking with Desert Safari
Most operators treat quad biking and desert safaris as separate tours. We merged them because the timing works perfectly - you ride the quad bikes at 4:30 PM when the sand is cooling down and the light turns golden, then transition straight into dune bashing as the sun drops lower. By the time you reach camp, it's sunset and dinner time.
The result is a 6-7 hour evening that covers everything: quad biking, dune bashing, camel riding, sandboarding, a full BBQ dinner, and live entertainment. Two packages - Standard and Premium - with the main difference being ride duration (30 vs 45 min quad biking, 45 vs 60 min dune bashing) and camp seating.
The Quad Biking Part
You'll ride a 250CC quad bike (ATV) through open desert terrain. Our instructors run a 10-minute safety briefing covering controls, braking, and how to handle sand. No experience needed - most riders pick it up within the first 5 minutes.
The Standard package gives you 30 minutes of riding time. The Premium adds 15 extra minutes, which is worth it if you want to push beyond the beginner-friendly area into steeper dunes. Both packages include all safety gear: helmet, goggles, and gloves.
Curious how quad bikes compare to dune buggies? We have a detailed comparison that breaks down the differences.
Dune Bashing
After quad biking, you'll climb into a Toyota Land Cruiser with a professional driver for dune bashing. This is the part that gets your adrenaline going - steep climbs, sharp turns, and controlled slides down the red sand dunes at Lahbab.
Worried about motion sickness? Our drivers watch for signs and adjust their driving. You can also mention it at pickup and we'll make sure your driver takes it easier. For more on this, check our dune bashing guide which covers what to expect and motion sickness tips.
Desert Camp and BBQ Dinner
The Bedouin-style camp is where the evening slows down. You'll have time for camel riding, sandboarding, henna painting, and photos in traditional Arabic outfits before dinner.
Dinner is an international BBQ buffet with live cooking stations. The menu covers grilled meats, Arabic mezze, salads, fresh bread, and desserts. Vegetarian options are always available - just let us know when booking. Our BBQ dinner guide has the full menu breakdown.
Entertainment Shows
While you eat, three shows rotate through the evening: Tanoura spinning (the one with the colored skirts and lights), a fire show, and belly dancing. The Standard package includes three shows; Premium adds a fourth. More details on what to expect in our desert entertainment guide.
What to Wear and Bring
Closed shoes for quad biking (mandatory), comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dusty, and a light jacket for after sunset - temperatures drop about 10Β°C once the sun goes down. We provide everything else. Our what to wear guide has season-specific recommendations.
Standard vs Premium - Which One?
Both packages include the same activities. The differences: Premium gets more ride time (45 min quad biking vs 30, 60 min dune bashing vs 45), VIP seating at camp, unlimited soft drinks, and an extra entertainment show. If it's your first desert safari and you're unsure, Standard covers everything well. If you want the longer rides and more comfortable seating, go Premium.
